history & Vision

Our Story

Evering Pentecostal Church has been a beacon of hope and faith in Tottenham for many years, funded by The Late Reverend Joseph Michael White.

As a Pentecostal church, we stand in the tradition of a movement that emphasises a direct, personal experience of God through the Holy Spirit. Our journey began with a passion to see lives transformed and the community impacted by the Gospel.

Our vision is to grow in faith, serve our community, and spread the love of Christ both locally and globally. We are committed to fostering a church where individuals can encounter God, grow in their faith, and be equipped to live out their purpose.

What we Believe

As a Pentecostal church, our beliefs are rooted in the fundamental truths of Christianity as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. We believe in:

The Bible as the Word of God: We hold the Bible to be the infallible and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
One True God: We believe in the Triune Godhead – Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit – one in nature, essence, and attributes.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God: We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and His second coming. He is our Saviour, Healer, Baptiser, and Soon-Coming King.
The Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, empowering believers for service, spiritual gifts, and a victorious Christian life. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to conversion, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues, and the manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit.
Salvation through Grace: We believe that humanity is sinful and needs to be born again, sanctified, and cleansed from all sins by the blood of Jesus Christ, through repentance and faith in Him.
Divine Healing & Miracles: We believe in and practice divine healing, as a commandment of Jesus, and that miracles occur where God is preached, faith is exercised, and the Holy Ghost is active.
The Church: We believe in the importance of the local church as the body of Christ, where believers gather for worship, fellowship, discipleship, and outreach.
